THE Paul & Daisy Soros Scholarships for New Americans was established to support outstanding immigrants and children of immigrants pursuing higher education in the United States. In an effort to highlight the many ways new Americans contribute to society and culture, the scholarship supports 30 individuals each year with up to $90,000 in funding for the graduate program of their choice.

The active alumni network includes artists, designers, architects, directors, writers, composers and musicians as well as doctors, lawyers, public health experts, professors, engineers and entrepreneurs .

The Paul & Daisy Soros scholarships will support my graduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As an undocumented applicant with DACA, my graduate school funding was of particular concern. Being selected as a PD Soros Fellow eased that worry and encouraged me to continue documenting the nuances of the undocumented experience through art. This life-changing investment in my development will allow me to focus entirely on exploring multi-level work that denies any singular narrative of what it means to be an undocumented American. It is an honor to take this crucial step in my artistic career alongside incredible past and present PD Soros Fellows who are leading and making history in their fields.
