What do you want to know: Opening April 18 and until April 28, 2023, Munich gallery Kunkel Fine Arts will participate alongside the Artcurial auction house and the Thole Rotermund Kunsthandel gallery in the joint exhibition “Linienspiel und Farbenrausch VI”. The exhibition will take place in the premises of Artcurial in Munich and will be presented at the same time as the art fair Paper Positions Berlin, in which Kunkel Fine Art will participate. For “Linienspiel und Farbenrausch VI”, the works on display are centered around the theme of landscapes and flowers and represent a wide range of styles, periods and artists, highlighting the artistic range and inspiration that nature has to offer. to offer.

Why we love it: As the peak of spring approaches, attention and appreciation for the natural world increases worldwide, making an exhibition of floral and landscape artwork especially timely. Founded in 2023 by Dr. Alexander Kunkel, Kunkel Fine Art specializes in 19th and 20th century art, in particular Realist, Impressionist, Symbolist and Neue Sachlichkeit artists, as well as a selection of contemporary works of art. The gallery’s concentrations make it perfectly situated for a display of floral and landscape artwork, ranging from traditional impressionist still lifes to contemporary photography. Based on Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s expressionist drawing from 1912 The swingwhich exemplifies the movement’s distinctly emotive style, Gilles Lorincontemplative daisy portrait 2017 gerberas, the charm and appeal of these traditional art genres are embodied. As part of the joint exhibition “Linienspiel und Farbenrausch VI”, visitors have the opportunity not only to appreciate the first works presented by Kunkel Fine Art, but also other pillars of the Munich art world.

According to the Gallery: “As part of the joint exhibition ‘Linienspiel & Farbenrausch’, Kunkel Fine Art presents drawings, watercolors and photographs from expressionism to the present day, which deal with the representation of flowers and landscapes. The question of the multiple possibilities of artistic examination of the theme of nature, in terms of media, style and content, is decisive for the selection of works. Through juxtapositions and juxtapositions, historical arcs of tension, aesthetic counterpoints and biographical interconnections arise. Thus, the presentation invites to an equally varied and pleasant journey of discovery, the milestones of which are set by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, August Macke, Emil Nolde, Horst Janssen, Gilles Lorin and others.
