New York Studio School Marathons engage the practices of drawing, painting and sculpture as direct methodologies to understand one’s experience in the world. Guided by numerous group and individual reviews, the artists are exposed to a wide range of approaches focused on the processes of artistic creation, new visual languages and experimentation. The innovation and depth of these 10-day programs increase participants’ mastery with the materials and lead to new ways of thinking and creating that continue well beyond the conclusion of each program.

About NYSS

To learn more about our full-time programs (MFA, CertificateAnd Virtual certificate) or additional part-time options (Evening and weekend courses, DesignAnd Sculpture Master Classes), please email info@nyss.org for any questions or to schedule a virtual or in-person visit.

Full-Time Program Highlight
THE Virtual Certificate Program is an amazing opportunity for artists to pursue their full-time studies with NYSS from their respective home studios. Artists from around the world are invited to participate in a structured, real-time program led by the school’s dedicated faculty, with many options for in-person study throughout the three-year program. Virtual Certificate students can attend New York-based marathons each semester or choose in-person study for entire semesters at a time, cultivating a self-directed curriculum that best supports their individual goals and life structure. .
