New to the New York art scene, New York Photography Fairs will kick off its inaugural edition September 8-10 with a VIP preview day on September 7, 2023. Running concurrently with the Armory Show and also taking place at the Javits Center, the fair is poised to become a new mainstay on the calendar city ​​art. . Presented by Creo, which is also presenting Photofairs Shanghai in April, the fair aims to explore the evolving methods and practices of image-based artistic creation, from traditional photography to cutting-edge digital art.

The upcoming fair will see over 20 cities represented, including Seoul, Lisbon, Paris, London, Milan and Buenos Aires, offering a wide range of international voices and perspectives on photography and image-making in the art landscape. contemporary. Alongside an extensive roster of recognized local and national exhibitors, a number of participating galleries will be exhibiting in New York for the first time, including Les Filles du Calvaire, Paris; Shun Art Gallery, Tokyo; and Troconi-Letayf & Campbell, Mexico.

THE 60 exhibitors the fair will host for its first edition a highly organized selection process led by Photofair New York Selection committee. The result is an unprecedented collection of galleries in one place, ranging from historic photography galleries to avant-garde contemporary art galleries.

In addition to presentations on the stand, visitors will also be greeted with a wide range of special projects, large-scale installations and publishing projects undertaken by the fair’s publishing partners, which include among others Fotografiska and Gagosian Quarterly. . A series of dynamic conversations and programming will also be announced ahead of the fair, which will host thought leaders and innovators in the fields of photography and digital art, contextualizing the practice of photography today.
