Artist David Hockney will unveil a new work on one of the biggest platforms in the world, the Glastonbury Festival stage in the UK. Hockney will release his new video, titled I lived in Bohemia Bohemia is a tolerant place, on Pyramid Stage screens later today (keep your eyes peeled around 5:30 p.m. GMT). In the moving image piece, Hockney removed characters from his painted series The dancers (2014) with the help of Artificial Intelligence. Hockney’s Glastonbury smorgasbord has been created in partnership with digital platform Circa, the second time it has partnered with the organization (in 2021, Hockney created a digital sunrise on billboards in six cities around the world). Emily Eavis, co-organizer of the Glastonbury Festival, is very pleased with Hockney’s efforts. “We are truly honored to show this work for the first time right in front of our very special guests on the Pyramid Stage tonight and then on our main stages this weekend. Thank you Circa for bringing this fantastic project to life,” she says.
