Meet Sue MacDougall, an artist with roots in New Zealand and a love affair with the picturesque landscapes of Greece. After spending numerous years immersed in the beauty of the Mediterranean, Sue has brought her passion for art and culture to life through her unique Art Retreats. In 2023, Sue celebrated the return of her beloved retreats, inviting art enthusiasts to join her on a creative journey in the charming island of Aegina.

Sue’s art is a reflection of her personality—bright, bold, and celebratory. Her creations mirror the vivid hues of the Greek landscapes she fell in love with, capturing the essence of her experiences and the cultural richness that surrounded her. Now, back in New Zealand, she channels these influences into her work, creating pieces that resonate with a zest for life.

For those seeking a one-of-a-kind artistic experience, Sue’s Art Retreats are a gateway to creativity, culture, and a touch of Greek magic. The 2023 retreat was a resounding success, with participants immersing themselves in the enchanting atmosphere of Aegina. Sue, who considers Aegina a part of her, takes great joy in sharing this special place with others while delving into the Greek culture and, of course, creating art.

The 2024 edition of Sue’s Art Retreat promises to be an even more captivating experience. With limited spaces available—only 8 participants per retreat—it’s an exclusive opportunity to dive into the world of art under Sue’s guidance. The dates for the retreats are as follows:

  • Option 1: 4th September – 11th September (Hurry! Only 6 spaces left)
  • Option 2: 18th September – 25th September

The package cost includes everything you need for an unforgettable experience—full hotel accommodation, breakfast, a main meal with drinks, all trips around the island, and transportation to and from the port of Athens. For those seeking shared accommodation, the twin share package is priced at NZD$7400 (approximately USD$4700). Single travelers can opt for the Single Supplement at NZD1850 (approx. USD$1150), and non-painting partners are welcome at NZD$6400 (approx. USD$3868).

To secure your spot, a 50% deposit is required, and it’s important to note that after the 30th of April 2024, the deposit becomes non-refundable. Sue understands the financial aspects of such experiences and offers 3- or 6-month pricing plans to accommodate different preferences.

Excitement radiates from Sue’s words as she expresses her anticipation of having participants join her on the magical island in September. Confirming your spot is as simple as responding to the email she sent, and she will promptly send a secure online payment link and tour confirmation pack your way.

For those with burning questions or a desire for more personal interaction, Sue is more than willing to organize a Zoom call. It’s an opportunity to meet virtually, discuss any queries, and build a sense of connection before embarking on this artistic adventure.

Sue MacDougall’s Art Retreat is more than just a creative escape—it’s a chance to rejuvenate your artistic spirit in the warm embrace of Aegina. With limited spaces, a touch of spontaneity, and the promise of a fresh itinerary, Sue invites you to join her in September for an unforgettable experience that blends art, culture, and the sheer joy of creation.
