Thesis work of students completing their master’s degree at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) will be exhibited at RISD Graduate Fair 2023, the annual exhibition of RISD graduation theses. Celebrating the creativity that new RISD graduates will bring to the world, the exhibition and digital publication includes work by students in architecture, ceramics, design engineering, digital+media, furniture design, glass, global arts and cultures, graphic design, industrial design, interior architecture, jewelry + metallurgy, landscape architecture, nature-culture-sustainability studies, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, teaching + learning in art + design and textiles. Works can be viewed digitally at risdgrad.show.
The exhibit will be on view at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Concourses C & D from May 25 through June 3. The exhibition is free and open to the public every day from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 3, the day of RISD’s Commencement).
RISD Grad Show 2023 invites viewers to experience a wide range of exploratory work by emerging artists and designers. The selected work represents the culmination of each student’s experience in RISD’s dynamic and diverse graduate programs. As in the past, the 43,000 square foot space will be custom built, with over 2,000 linear feet of walls forming a network of small galleries. The unique configuration of the large flexible space provides graduate students with remarkable opportunities to show multiple pieces or large installations from final thesis projects representing two or three years of research, experimentation, critical thinking, and production.
In addition, an exhibition of selected works by graduate students from different disciplines will take place at Sol Koffler Graduate Student Gallery at 169 rue Weybosset. The installation will be visible from June 2 to 4 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
